Can I buy McGraw-Hill Australia textbooks online?
Yes. Selected titles are available online through this website, simply search for the title you are interested in and if it is available for online purchase you will be able to ‘add to cart’ and complete your purchase online.

I bought a book that is published by you and found that it has pages missing, what do I do?
If you purchased the text book from a bookshop/seller, go back to them and inform them that your textbook is missing pages and they will contact McGraw-Hill Education for a replacement. Please note that the bookshop will require proof of purchase.

I have bought a book that comes with a CD but the CD won’t work on Windows Vista. What can I do?
The problem may be that your version of Vista is not set up to autoplay CDs. Go to for instructions on how to change your autoplay settings. If you don’t wish to change your settings, you can still manually run the product. Insert your CD into your CD drive. Go to ‘My Computer’ and you will see a number of options, including ‘Devices with removable storage’ – under this heading you will see your CD/DVD drive. Double click on the drive to view the contents of the CD. Every CD from McGraw-Hill will contain a .exe file that will start the product (may be titled autorun.exe, or start.exe or similar). Double click on the .exe file and this will open your product.

I have bought a book that comes with a CD but the CD won’t work on Windows 7/Mac OS X 10.6. What can I do?
Some older McGraw-Hill products are not compatible with Windows 7 or the latest Mac OS X. Please report your problem using our as patches or upgrades may be available.

How do I register for an OLC?
If your Online Learning Centre contains premium content, you will receive a unique code in the front of your textbook. Your code will be printed on a detachable card located at the inside front cover of your textbook.
To register, go to the web address for your textbook. This will be provided in the prelims and on the back cover of your book.
Click on the 'Student Edition' link in the grey box on the left side of the screen.

Click on Log In at the top right corner of the screen.

You will see a small pop up where you can either log in if you already have a McGraw-Hill Education account, or you can click use your registration code.

Follow the remaining instructions to access your premium content.
NOTE: not all OLCs have premium content. If you don’t have a code in the front of your book, there will be no premium content associated with your text. If you are using a Connect course, your premium content will be accessed via Connect.

I have forgotten my username or password and can’t log in to the OLC for my book.
Click on Log In at the top right corner of the screen.

You will see a small pop up where you can click on the ‘Forgot your password’ link (under the Password box).

You will be taken to the following screen where you can access your details using the email address that you registered with. (Remember that email addresses are cAsE sEnSiTiVe.)

If you do not receive an email, the problem is most likely because:
- you mistakenly entered an invalid email address when initially registering
- the email may have been recognised as SPAM by your email system.

I am trying to log in to an OLC, but I keep going round in circles and sent back to the OLC home page.
You may be entering either your username or password incorrectly. Both username and password are case sensitive so, if you registered using all lower case, you MUST log in this way. If you enter the wrong details you will not be able to log in.
For example:
If you register with
UN a.student@email.com
PW password
But you try to log in with
UN A.Student@email.com
PW password
The system will not let you in.
Please make a note of your log-in details, including capitalisation, when you register your account to avoid this issue.
If you are definitely entering your details correctly, you may be being blocked by a firewall. If you have a personal firewall set up, try disabling it. If you are at school or work, contact your IT department for further assistance.

My registration code doesn’t work, I get an error message saying the code has already been used.
Codes are valid for only one use. If you have a brand new book and your code does not work, report your issue to the online support centre to obtain a new code. You may be required to provide proof of purchase.
If you have purchased a second hand textbook it is likely that your code will already have been used by the original owner. If this is the case, you will need to purchase a new code to access the digital resources.

You will only need to enter your registration code the first time that you register. From then on, you will be able to log in using your username and password.
My access code is rejected or I get an ‘Invalid Code’ error.
Access codes are usually a combination of alphanumeric characters. Make sure you're not mistaking the number 0 (zero) for the letter O or vice versa. This also applies to the number one (1) and the letter L. Upper and lower case characters may also be interpreted differently.
If you have entered your code carefully and it still does not work, report your issue to the to obtain a new code. You may be required to provide proof of purchase.
I have registered for an OLC, but I am not sure where to find my resources on the site.
Student resources are usually divided into two areas, ‘course-wide content’ and ‘chapter-specific content’.
Course-wide content is relevant to your entire text and appears at the top left of your screen. Click on the various menu items to access the content.

Chapter-specific content is content which is related to a particular chapter and will contain items such as student revision quizzes and more. This content can be accessed using the drop-down menu underneath the course-wide content items.

Can I use my access code to access other McGraw-Hill products or textbooks?
No, your code is specific to the digital resources for the textbook that you have purchased. To access other McGraw-Hill products you will have to either purchase the relevant textbook or buy access online (selected products).
I have purchased a second-hand book and I would like to access the digital resources for that book. What do I do?

I have a code to access a VitalSource eBook, but I don’t know how to download the book.
There should be detailed instructions on the card that contains your eBook code.
You need to: go to and download the Bookshelf (for Windows or Mac depending on what you are using).
Once you have downloaded and installed the program, you will need to register your account. You can enter your registration code at registration or once you have registered and opened Bookshelf on your computer: go to the help menu at the top of the page and select activate new content. You can then enter your activation code to redeem your content.

Can I access my VitalSource eBook on my smartphone/tablet?

Can I buy my textbook for Kindle or other e-readers?
No, at the moment McGraw-Hill Australia does not provide eBooks for e-readers.
Where can I find solutions to the questions in my textbook?
Generally solutions are only provided to instructors for use while teaching their course. McGraw-Hill does not supply solutions manuals to students.
In some cases, answers to selected questions may be available in your textbook or online either in the Online Learning Centre (OLC) or an assigned Connect site for your book.

My textbook mentions Connect, but I don’t know how to get access to the resources
Your lecturer may not have chosen to package Connect with your book. Talk to your lecturer to find out what digital resources are available for your course.
My textbook comes with a Connect access code, but I don’t know how to access the resources.

The digital support centre will aim to respond to your query within 24–48 hours of your request being logged. When your case is submitted you will receive an automatically generated email containing a case reference number. If you haven’t had a further response after 48 hours you can reply to the original email chasing your request. If you didn’t receive the original email, this means that you have entered your email address incorrectly and you will need to resubmit your issue.
